OUGD603 / Research-led Brief / Ceramics / Glazing


Here they have just come out the kiln, I still need to glaze them with a transparent glazing.


This step should have been done just after the pots were painted to save time and also because the stoneware is a lot more absorbent, meaning that the glaze would dry a lot quicker. Because of this I had to use a hot air gun to dry the glaze on.


This is the final stage before they go in to the kiln for the last time. Some of the colours (the oxides and carbonates) will change due to the reaction with the glaze.
